I disagree. Most fighting pitts do indeed have to be put down. Those dogs were placed in special homes, I am sure not with other animals.
The problem is not with humans really, but other animals, most fighting pitts can't be rehabilitated . If you have special people who know how to handle them and have the time then yes, but not all states *probably none* have funding for that. I think with Vick's dogs they just got more attention than a regular fighting pitt would and the people that can take them in and handle them came forward, believe me it's not the norm.
Where I am from, New York, there is no money for all the fighting pitts to have all the attention and training Vick's dogs are getting, those dogs of Vicks can't be trusted around other animals, I don't care what anyone says, they cant.
Just my opinion , my eyes have seen a lot regarding these poor animals.
