oh and he sent me all the tests so i personally saw them as i forwarded them on to dr dodds for her to review them as well prior to him going to dr tobias and i was shocked too as i always thought protein c test was a good measurement. Since he fathered puppies i told him you need to do scintigaphy and go to tobias so he did and scintigraphy showed a shunt and when tobias opened him up to neuter and fix the shunt there were 4 so she had to close him up and could not do shunt repair. This was a healthy dog too and only signs of liver disease were stones and he was 4 years old

I think there is controversy as well as i think and correct me if i am wrong centers is not too quick on doing shunt repair in all dogs and in some feels they can be treated without the repair is this the case as I believe a vet tech told me this but want to be sure as i personally if my dog had a shunt would get it repaired so they can have a normal life -- I am just curious if anyone else has heard this as well?
