I don't think so. I think if you make the decision to have you dog eliminate inside, then you run the risk of confusion if you do it without training. This is the case whether you use washables, newspaper, fake grass, real indoor grass, disposibles, pellets, etc.

I can only speak for myself and this is what I tell my customers - For 10 years, my dogs have had bathrooms in the same exact locations in my home. My dogs also go in one spot in the yard. They do not pee on furniture, bedding, throw rugs, bathrugs, or any other textile that finds its way on the floor. I suggest that people positively reinforce their dogs to go in designated locations and not to put pee pads all over the house because that is like opening the back door and letting your dog go anywhere in your garden.

Dogs need rules, even cute ones like yorkies.
