Oh boy what a decision. Well the summer yard is similar to what we purchased. I got an x-pen on amazon. Paid $49.00. I also have a crate that I purchased at walmart for $20. I also got him a target baby blanket for the crate and and he loves that. So here's the problem with the pen. He would rather be in the crate in the dining room than in the x-pen with the crate inside. We want him in the x-pen so if he has to go he can do it on the pee pad and not get into trouble in a large dining room/kitchen area. I'm thinking that it would have been better to get him a pen that has a door on it so he can come and go and use it for feeding too then just close it up when we have to leave him for several hours. I am looking forward to the responses you get. These little puppies are just so precious.
