I took the xpen back today. The crate works MUCH better, she loves it in there! I covered 3 sides and left the side facing me uncovered. She did cry when I put her back in it after our late night pee break, but she settled quick - AND - I got to sleep until 8:30, and I woke HER up. It's a much better fit for us, and easier to move around the house. If only potty training could be as easy as that, lol. Was nice to save the $90 on the crate and $26 for the stuff we put underneath it (think it was called wainscotting). My Visa is happier, lol.

Thanks so much for everyone's advice! I feel so stupid when it comes to puppies, so I'll likely have more questions in the months to come. Nice to know I can come and learn from those with so much more experience than I have.
