Show quality is a term we use to say after they have been in a show and have racked up a few points and looks like they can finish. I think you are talking about the term, "show potential or show prospect." Right? A show prospect is a termed used for a pup that seems to have all the right qualities at that time to be shown.

All the people I know that sell their pups sell with limitied registrations to protect the pup and their line. All pups no matter the quality is sold on Limited Registrations unless it is sold to another show person. Period. That is just how it is done in my area. Most all sell theie pups they do not keep personally are therefore sold with Limited Registrations, since most of us do not sell a pup to show unless we know that person very, very well. Just how it is done here in my area. So the breeder/exhibitor may have a very nice pup, but if it is not kept for them personally to show, it is sold to a pet home with Limited Registrations.
Tina,

All the breeder/exhibitors I know place the pups they don't keep for themselves on limited registration.

Prices do vary from region to region. Some great breeders in Texas, but prices are definately lower than California, for obvious reasons.
