I have a friend that took in a cat that was left behind when the owners moved away. She took it to the Vet and she had a tattoo on her belly. That vet did not know how to go about reading the tattoo to see who owned the cat. They did scan the cat for a chip.
Makes me wonder how many other vets don't know what to do with a tattoo on an animal that is lost?
