I wouldn't put anything on it. Just bath her. The clear fluid that comes out will actually act as a bandaid. If at anytime it looks like it is getting some infection, then you can put some Bacitracin Ointment on it for a couple of days, then wash and let air dry. (Bacitracin draws out infection).
Tell your brother that slickers are used only to get a mat from the fur, not for brushing.
