I would go see the puppies and check out the parents as well.
Ask questions on the adults health and if you like a puppy ask for
the vet's # to check out that the parents have been going for regular
checkups and are healthy. Use your judgement. If this checked out
fine, go for it. Papers aren't necessary unless your going to breed anyhow.
There are thousands of healthy puppies born in homes from just pet stock.
Important thing is that the parent's have no health problems.
