Sorry to say, I haven't had this problem.
Twinkie has slept with me from the beginning. We have stairs at the bottom of the bed, so when she has to go potty, she walks down the stairs, potties and comes right back up and sleeps. If she's not in the mood to sleep, she will look out of the window or play with one of her toys, or bully sticks, until I wake up. I'm sure if she didn't sleep with me, I might have the same issue.
