I was so relieved that both of your loved ones are going to come out of this physically. Your son and his puppy may have some lasting PTSD from the incident that may not show for weeks. I really feel for you as a mom. Non knowing what had really happened, how bad it really was, and then seeing him in the hospital injured after such a horrifying experience, I have been there when my son was shot while he was making a bank drop after close of the fast food place he worked at. I just got a call in the middle of the night that he had been shot..no more information, (that's why I mentioned the PTSD, my son had it). I do not live in Chicago, I am in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, these things just don't happen here, but it did. It's so hard as parents to protect our kids at every turn when they are little so they will get a chance to spread their wings and fly, but when they leave we can't protect them anymore and sometimes bad things happen. Luckily God was looking out for your boy while you were not there, things could have been a lot worse. May only sunny days come your way for a long, long time. |
