My 24 year old dtr has the same thing. Out of the blue her knee will fill with fluid and be so stiff and painful. She has gone several times to the orhtopedist and they did an MRI, drained it 3 different times and cortisone shots, therapy. Last time it happened they wouldn't drain it because he wanted her to go to a rheumatologist who she couldn't get into for 4 weeks. After thousands of dollars in blood work nothing really showed up. Told her if it only happens a few times a year she should just get the cortisone shot. That was less than 3 months ago and last week she woke up an it was filling with fluid and stiffening up. She is so frustrated too as no on can find out what is causing it. I hope you can get an answer and some relief. |
