I adopted a tiny little 8 week old maltese last week that is blind. She doesn't have an eyeball on the left and the right eyeball is so underdeveloped and tiny that she cannot see out of it. She is just a precious little ball of fur. I've always had and still have yorkies so this is my first maltese. I just lost my 18 yr old Heidi about 8 weeks ago now and she was basically blind due to cateracts. I lost my 16 1/2 yr old Kady last March and she didn't have any eyes so I have experience with blind dogs but not with a puppy that was born blind. Does anyone have any helpful info for me especially with housebreaking. She is using the litter box and going outside but I am picking her up and putting her in the appropriate place- I think I'm the one that is trained and not her but 8 weeks old is a little to early anyway. Also need help with a name. The owner-breeder named her Angel but I might rename her.
