My Grandmother was a WONDERFUL Southern cook who was famous for her fruit cake that was loaded with pecans that she would get from her tree. She would make big batches of them, put them in pretty tins and give them as Christmas gifts.

When she made them, she would put all the ingredients in a big bowl and toss them with her hands.

Wll, when I was a little girl, I remember my Mom opening the package from her Mother and excitedly slicing the fruit cake. In one of the slices was a bandaid that had come off while Gma was mixing it and it got cooked in with the cake!

EEEEWWWWWWW!!!! Haven't touched a fruit cake since!!

Oddly enough, it never stopped my Mom from enjoying her favorite holiday treat.
I understand..I have a similar story..LMAO
ok, the first Christmas me and my boyfriend was together, I always made butter cookies from scratch..So, I decided to make him some along with everyone else...I left the dough in the frige to long..so it was to hard to roll, while rolling it I broke a nail and lost it. Make a long story short, I made over 12 dozen cookies, and the nail ended up in his cookies...He won't eat any more of my cookies.
