What grade did your vet diagnose your baby as? Uni has grade 3 and I don't plan on getting surgery for her. I have her on glucosamine supplements, and she has not hiked up her leg ever since that first time.

Grade 4 is the worst. Grades 1 and 2 are hardly operated on. Grade 3 is debatable.
