I have a 3 year old girl, who is a mom. But, her mother still continues to diaper her, not every day...but, here and there.....Mom thinks this girl is still her little baby and Tahlulah still acts like it.
But, you understand pups, at birth do not have the ability to do this on their own. So, moms stimulate them and being the animals that they are want their den kept clean to keep prediators away...no smell, no sign of pups.....though our wee ones are domesticated...they still have animal instincts....it's ingrained.

I know a lot of human relationships like that.
