Congratulations mommy to be! You mentioned that you're bringing home your baby girl when she's 8 weeks. Would it be possible to wait until 12? Reason I ask is because the period between 7-12 weeks or so is when pups learn soooo much from their mom and their litter mates as far as socialization, how to behave around other dogs, etc. Waiting that extra four weeks would give her a chance to develop tons more social skills and give you a more outgoing dog. I brought Soph home at 8 weeks (five years ago, didn't know better) and knowing what I know now, wish I hadn't. She won't play with other dogs and won't interact with other people when we're in public or have guests at the house. Good luck with your new baby, you're going to love being a Yorkie mommy. |
