We had a lot of luck when we switched from tap water to distilled water for Chloe. It really cut down on her "tears". I read that often excess minerals are shed via the tear ducts; giving distilled water cuts down on the dog's mineral intake and thus also helps with the tear stains. Granted, if your pup's problem is allergies or some other source, then this may not help. Just speaking from my experience!

P.S. Also, distilled water has been great for us b/c we travel at least once a month and changing up Chloe's water was causing her to have an upset tummy. No more problems in that area now either!
