Works for me and my pups are safe. They've learned to travel both ways. As a matter of fact I have a couple that vomit while traveling. Switching them to a car seat stopped the vomiting......

There are more show/pet owners that transport their dogs via a car seat.

And as I said, it's better than allowing them loose in the car.
Mary do you know of any studies that compare crates versus car seat? If car seat has been proven to be safer then I can switch over.[/QUOTE]

Gail,

I don't really know if there are any studies...I can only go on what the officer went on.

I know that some are adamantly against them. I find them very convenient when traveling in town....My dogs can look out and can lay and sleep, they are cushioned and hooked in....

If one is traveling to dog shows and you are transporting more than one dog in a van and equipment....crates stack better......just have to make sure they get plenty of air......I do prefer crates during that time...although, I hate veri-kennels.....
