I would do a couple of in-home sessions with a trainer if you can - I think you can cut to the chase and get right to the exact way to train this dog so that you can keep him with you guys. If you cant do that, then Petsmart may be a good option depending on the trainer. I'd talk to that person first.

I hope you can find a good working relationship with your Smokey and keep him It sounds like you love him even if he is a pain sometimes!
