My little Zoey is in training for therapy. You really have to start early with socialization skills. There are several kinds of therapy dogs. Some just visit nursing homes. Actually go into the hospital rooms to cheer up patients bedridden or terminally ill. Some therapy dogs are trained to participate in actual rehab therapy to motivate patients to move without thinking. My daughter has a Yorkie that is trained to fetch a person on command when she needs assistance(she is quadriplegic with no voice). Opposite end of the show dog spectrum!!!!!
