Cookie..if the book said 1oz of water to 1 pound of dog, then he is getting about 6oz..it is 3 times what he needs to stay health, but not too much to be unhealthy. Some dogs get water in other places, like canned food, cottage cheese etc.
Then you can get one who is healthy, but likes water..perhaps it plays more, weather is hotter outside etc.
He is too young for most health problems with the symtom of excess drinking..it would be unsually for him to have Cushings or diabetes.
