I adopted an older female 5yrs. old and she is really coming around. When I first brought her home, she was trembling all the time and would hide from us.
I have had her about 7 months now and she follows me everywhere and loves to cuddle. She won't play with toys, is still a little nervous and is a little afraid of people, but she is coming around because I take her for walks where there are lots of people and dogs all the time. I think older rescue dogs take more time, but they really, really need the love and I am so glad now I gave her a home because she is such a sweet heart and I can't imagine live without her.
