Until this pup has all it's rounds of vaccinations (ending around 16 weeks), it is not safe to be anywhere that other dogs are. My vet even has people bring pups in a carrier, or hold them when they come in.... they can't put their feet on the ground. Groomers won't touch them until they have all shots, nor will doggy daycares. I personally wouldn't even consider leaving a young pup at the vets, just because of all the sickness it could be exposed to.

The young age is going to continue to present challenges in every area.

By the way, the little blue pen/condo thing you got is cute, but be really careful that the little pup doesn't get a toenail caught in the mesh. One of my pups had that happen in a playpen and could have ripped the toenail out and bled to death if I hadn't rescued her quickly.
