Well they can scratch like my kacee does when he wants something... he is relentless when he decides it is time to go out side or time for a treat or he is hungry...I do not beleive a dog has to bark to go outside or for food or a treat... or when neighbors walk down the street..
Although my guys.. if one barks at nothing.. they do all feel this huge need to just bark also...
