I adopted a rescue pupster named George about five years ago. I completed an application to adopt and was interested in another yorkie, but he was not quite ready for adoption. George's foster mom spoke with me at length asking me what I liked about yorkies...and all about how I live, etc. She then suggested George....and I agreed to adopt him sight unseen. I put my trust in her and oh my gosh has it worked out well. George was the perfect fit from day one.

What is interesting about this story is that it was not looks that I was after...it was the yorkie personality. I love the stubborn streak...all of the things that endear us to this breed. I loved him from day one for who he was....interestingly, he turned into quite the gorgeous little yorkie. Here are before and after pics of my Georgie:

My point is that no matter how a pup looks, they each have their own personalities. What I think is great about rescue is that you can pretty much get what fits best in your life. Nothing against purchasing a puppy....I just am sold on rescues myself. Each one that I have adopted has known that he/she was given a second chance and they all make lovely companions!
