My girlfriend's little poodle had (or is it has?) pancreatitis a month or so ago.
She was at the vets for 3 or 4 days. She is older and has diabetes(sp) too, so they probably kept her a little longer than most. For the diabetes they needed to keep her blood sugar up, but for the pancreatitis they needed to starve her. I'm not sure if it was for testing or treatment purposes.
Evidently she was getting too much people food, so now she has a specific diet and is doing okay.
