When our female was old enough to breed, the vet said to keep her on the Advantage, that it wouldn't hurt the pups at all. It was our first time of raising Yorkies, and we trusted the vet. There were 6 puppies born, and only one lived. The other 5 died within about 2 or 3 days, because of very weak hearts! The vet cost us the lives of 5 of our little babies!!! Reading this post all the way through, just now, I can see that there are also other things not to do while breeding through weaning . . . heartgard, flea control and worming! I had a long time breeder tell me to worm the mommy during the pregnancy, and right after she gives birth. Guess that is wrong too, but that is what she has always done -- and had good results. Sometimes it's all very confusing!!! and sad!!!!!!!!!!
