You were on your own property, not walking your dog on public streets, maybe that
is different. I don't know. His dog was off leash on your property.
Please look into this, you may get justification.
I can't imagine not wanting to be responsible for someone else's
heartbreak if my dog was the aggressor. I hope it works out
for you.
