and yes nsaids will affect the liver and kidneys very strongly so probably what happened but once all is calmed down i would still do bats just to be safe    |  
 
  Tramadol... that's it!  I couldn't remember the name.  Yup, that's the one he said he preferred.  First he said he'd put some up for her...then he came back out and said he couldn't come up with the right dose and had to use the Metacam.  (This was before the bloodwork came back, of course.) 
Thank you SO much for the advise.  I'll talk to him about the BATs when we go back for more bloodwork.  It's good to be fortified with knowledge when making important decisions.   
My husband and I are totally in love with this little pooch, but financially, ummm.....not so good.  Thinking about vet bills in our past that we could afford then, and absolutely  
could not  now, I bought a PetPlan policy last April.  Thank heaven.  Now, we'll see how well they really cover Zoey.  We're sure not thrilled with our 
human insurance company.
