I say don't cut it, when the hair is pulled back in a top knot, the eyes look so beautiful! A topknot can be used with short or long hair.
When Lex had odor coming from her eye goup/hair near eyes, I treated her eyes with an antibiotic ointment (sold at dr.fosters), she no longer has foul odor or much goup in her eyes/hair around eyes.

Can't wait to see what you decide.
