Yes, you do have to keep trimming it bc it never grows back normally. It sticks out, that's why I have to cut Momo's hair...it pokes his eyes.
It's really up to you. If you want to grow it, DON'T cut it.
That period of growing it out is LONG & PAINFUL to watch (esp if patience is not a strong point, like in my case lol), but it's sooo worth it!
