Mia and our new addition, Dany don't mind the crate. Addie was and still is another story. From the time we brought her home as a three month old, she has refused to be crated. She would cry, yelp, bark, and jump hitting her head on the crate. After about five seconds of this, I couldn't stand it any longer. I was worried she would hurt herself. I bought an expen and arranged it and the crate in a square so she had room to roam (littered with piddle pads) and could go in the crate with the door open when she wanted to sleep. Of course, she refused to be in this too if we were home.
As far as jumping/climbing out (we found out this week that Dany can and will do that if Addie and Mia aren't with her), some pens have covers that you can put over the put together expen. I don't have a cover, so I don't know how well they work. Probably want to make sure the little one can't get it's head under it and possible choke. |
