Well we can't block off the front door to him unless we leave him gated in a bedroom or the kitchen and I don't like him having to be seperate from us. I do have a excercise pen that folds up flat that I thought about using to barrier off the front door. We can step over it so can the kids. He can climb over it but it would eliminate his ability to dart out the door because I would catch him climbing up. I use it sometimes to block off his access to our downstairs finished basement area (the cats domain! lol) when the door is open.
