I understand about running out the front door we also had a runner when my Teddy was a puppy. You need to buy a soft thin leash and leave it on all the time. Open you front door with the leash on and pull back and say no when your baby touches the door thresh hold and repeat several times a day. You have to leave the leash on and let is drag around the house (when you are home of course so not to let it get caught on any furniture). When the door opens and is your fur baby runs it will be much easier to catch you fur baby with the leash dragging. The leash can also train not to go into rooms of your house or furniture that is off limits (if there is any). Good Luck!
