You can't stop it. That's just what they do. You can discourage it, but that's only cosmetic. If you're not looking and he feels like, he will. He probably thinks you're crazy for being upset about it. Our male dogs always looked at me like I was losing my mind. But neutering him will cut down on the worst parts.
