Crate training didn't really work out so well with us either. He was fine in it when we left him alone (never came back to poop, pee, or anything that seemed he had been stressed) but when we were home... he was having NONE of being in that crate and being away from us. Even the ex-pen didn't work out too long for us. He's such a "pack oriented" dog I guess you could say and just really didn't like being away from his family when he could clearly see us in the next room. I guess we got lucky that he's never been really bad so he's had free roam since 5 months old (but when he was younger, it was constant supervision to make sure no potty accidents). Crate just didn't work for us. We did it for about a month. |
