Here in NJ the first round of rabies is good for one year, then when they their second shot that is good for 3 years.
I have my vet titered for all the other vaccines but the rabies is mandated by law so is no way around it unless your vet gives you a note stating that your dog is has a high risk of getting sick and can't have the vaccine.
