Vaccine Question, very confused ! Suzi will be 2 yrs old next month. . She had all her core vaccines as a puppy . What confuses me is that I've read that the Rabies vaccine is the same as the 3yr one . If so, then IMO , she does not need anther one.
I never revaccinated her after she had all her shots. The breeder had started vaccinated Suzi when way to early , so when I got her at going on 9weeks old, she had already had 2 rounds . The vet advised me to begun her vaccines all over again , and this is what I had done. SHe had no reactions at all and did just fine.
Now , my question is this. DO I still have to worry about vaccines in a nearly 2 yr old Yorkie ? Or is she protected ? I have read many articles from YT about vaccines , and some vets say that dogs are protected for life and the rabies shot does not need to be done for 3 yrs, because it is the same one that is used for the 3 yr shot.
Is she old enough not to worry about parvo or distemper? And protected from these deadly diseases ?
I fear that , but fear much more to overvaccinate Suzi do to the horror stories of vaccinations and health problems they can have for life due too many shots.
Could anybody help me sort through this mess? Suzi is mostly an indoor dog, but i use to take her on walks much more then I did before . I like to do that again , she loves to be outside , but the fear of her getting ill makes me hesitate .
