When I brought home Chipper we had a 10 year old cat. This cat was huge and weighed about 15lbs and was totally afraid of my 2lb yorkie puppy. The cat spent the first week under the covers of our bed. I had to lure the cat out of the bed and then fed him under the bed. Chipper was confined to the kitchen and was in his crate at night so it wasn't as if the puppy was in the cats personal space. The second week the cat stayed under the bed and by week 3 started to walk around the house and tried to ignore Chipper. After a couple of months the two of them became great friends. Hopefully your cat will someday realize that your yorkie is here to stay and life can go on.
