dermatologist told me to put some neosporine around the area twice a day for a couple days if it persists to bring her in but i am going to take her in i think because i do not like treating unless i know what it is and cytology will tell us if yeast or bacteria as neosporine is more for bacteria correct? or does it work for yeas as well? |
I think the odds are extremely low that the dog is pleasuring herself, I'm in agony just thinking about your dog. Can you ask your vet if you could use an over the counter cream like Monistat, it gives immediate relieve. Perhaps even using a diaper or panties to keep her from licking the cream. I don't think it does any harm, but it wouldn't help if that were not the problem, but of course, you should ask the vet. Secondary infections can result if she licks too much. I think I would have also kept her on the probiotics longer. I feel so bad for her. It use to be that you couldn't buy it over the counter, and by the time you got a doctors prescription, yikes, I hate thinking about it.
