In 1999 I decided to shape up for the new millenium, and adopted low carb lifestyle, and lost 30 lbs. which I have managed to keep off for 11 years now. Whenever I put on a few pounds, I just back off on the carbs again, and quickly take it off.
Are you near your goal, or how much more are you hoping for? Be careful though, once you do reach your goal weight, it takes a while to stabilize, where your body accepts that as normal. If you add back too many bad carbs too quickly, you will gain back even faster than you lost. | Well, I hate saying it out loud (well, writing it out loud on here, lol) but I have about 100 lbs to lose. I have always been overweight and tried other things, but the weight just came back. It was totally my fault, as I went right back to eating the unhealthy crap I always ate that made me overweight in the first place! This is truely the change now, as my kids are getting older (they're seven, almost five, and 14 months) and I want to set the example in their lives. I can't not let them eat bad stuff, and then let them eat all of the bad things I won't let them touch. Everyone in my family is eating better now (well, except my hubby... but he's a lost cause lol!). I believe I can reach my goal weight (which is around 140 lbs, as I am 27 years old and am 5'7) by July by keeping on track with what I'm doing now, and then holding strong to all of the new things I'm learning now about health through buying healthy cookbooks, eating right, and working out! |
