Yay for Sadee!!!
Seriusly though, don't give up. I purchased the book to help my brother and ex-husband train their yorkies. Since I was recovering from surgery and wasn't able to do much during the day, I offered to work on potty training them. I started training them at the same time.
Now Grover did fantastic and I would say it took about ten days for him to be 100% trained. (And Yes, I used the books schedule.) I did the day shift, and my brother followed the schedule religiously at night. - It paid off.
Rosies on the other hand... well she is a year old and is probably only 75% trained. But I blame that on my ex. He is a restaurant manager and works late hours. As soon as he would get home he would let her out of her crate and put her in bed with him. And when he would get up in the morning... well, he is slow to wake up and think straight. So Rosie did not get put out for awhile. Can't blame the dog for that!!!
As for my little furbaby, Cricket is very tiny and it has been snowing a lot and in freezing temps since I got her. I tried to start her training outside, but she just looks at me with those great big brown eyes as if to say, "Mommie! How can you torture me so!" as she sits shivering. It makes my body ache just to watch her!
So I used the same crate schedule w/ Cricket, but am using the puppy pads. She is doing fantastic and after two weeks is 100% puppypad trained. But after reading all these posts... I am so nervous that she will not do well transitioning to outside when she warms up! YIKES!!!!
