I know how you feel.
I am in Colorado as we speak and been here since Sunday morning. I go back tomorrow afternoon. The first night is always sooo weird without Jackson in my bed. I leave him with my dad, stepmom, bro, and their 2 dogs when I go away where I know he gets spoiled & has fun but if I had it my way -- he would always be with me!
I don't know what I would do if my dad couldn't watch him. I've got my mom and stepdad but I don't really trust them as much, lol, and they work all the time.
