Actually is does work on most poodle mixes, especially if the dogs being crossed is a non or low shedding breed. I breed cockapoos, 2nd and 3rd generation and they do not shed at all, ever!
The only ones I have seen shed are the smooth coats but it isn't usually very much. Cocker spaniels barely shed as well.. My cocker doesn't shed, and neither did any of the other cockers I have owned.
