If you've ever had to have a pet put to sleep, you know that the relationship you have with your vet, is an extremely important one. You want a vet who's not making his decisions on how that will affect his income, but on how that will affect the pet and its family. Sometimes, a family is too close to a pet, and you need to see through the eyes of knowledgeable, compassionate professional.
I don't have a list of vets, I've only listed some of the qualities that you should look for in your vet. So many times people recommend people just because they have pleased them in the past, without knowing much of their background. I've read so many times, "They came highly recommended, but . . ." |
and when you find that vet in cali let me know lolllllll
the specialists I deal with are excellent though they are very helpful. Dr Dodds emailed at 11:00 at night on how to use a cuticle clipper to split an oblong pill as my pill cutter would not work on it and she emails me from all over the world when she is speaking so she has thoroughly impressed me as i feel like she cares about my dogs and me and she is extremely knowledgeable and she helps me with dogs on here and other groups when i send videos and pics. She truly is an amazing woman and very compassionate.
Dr T our Dentist is awesome. I consulted with two dentists before having demi's dental done and he emailed me back on a weekend answering all my questions off his website i posted to and that impressed me as i felt he cared enough to get my business to email me back over a weekend and the fact that he had email was impressive too. He is not big on all the supplemental stuff he says BRUSH THE TEETH.
Dr Da Silva spent an hour or more going over dex eyes when i was concerned about him having dry eye as it runs in breed and he has goopy eye alot. She even had me sit down and look in microscope and showed me what was going on and then told me about using saline solution but not too much as you do not want to mess with the natural tear production of the eye. She was very thorough.
Dr Gubash is very helpful and staff is amazing. I call or fax in info and they get right back to me answer all my questions. She is very thorough and very conservative and she also goes to Dr Tsugawa for her cats dental so i figure if a specialist goes to him that is a good sign and Jean Dodds recommended him to me and said he is amazing.
Our internal medicine specialist is AMAZING Dr Ortega at VMSG - the hospital is open 24/7 and there are interns that are amazing and no matter what time day or night they answer the phone and help me and Dr O emails me back answering all my questions and the person in charge of meds there Michelle is awesome too she always explains meds to me and concerns. I feel safe knowing they are there for me and when my dd was so sick after metacam she had me come in and did not charge me full price fo specialist consult and spent an hour going over all of dd issues. She is very caring and saved my dexter's life - I trust her 100%.
here is her facility
