I was once told a long time ago that "dog people" are their own breed. I found that out when I purchased my Afghan hound 16 years ago. The breeder informed me that she was going to be in my life for the next 15 years. That's stalking no matter how you slice that pie. When he passed I didn't contact her as he was my dog, my Jordan. Not her's anymore. I have 2 rescue dogs, 1 is 12 and the other 11. One is diabetic and going blind, she gets 2 shots (16ml) each day. She is in a diaper most of the day as it is hard for her to control herself. Most people would put this animal to rest as this type of care is expensive and a burden to most. I love her and will do everything in my power to ensure that the rest of her life will be filled with love and the best care that I can give her. I will never use any animal for capital gain. Nor would I do anything that would put my pets in harms way. If a Vet were to tell me that having 1 litter would put my dog's health at risk, I would surley take his advise..He is my brother and I trust him.
I add to this thread my story about this Breeder and I find that the only thing that mattered is that I said I wanted to breed my dog at least 1 time. And that the breeder said she would be 3-4 pounds. My Harley is a tiny boy and she knew that. She said I should take her because she was going to be bigger than him and the female needed to be bigger. So pick me apart to the extent that I am defending myself to a bunch of people that don't know me, and never will.
I recently met a pro dog judge as I stated before. In conversation with her about kenneling dogs while on vacation, she doesn't because she said that she doesn't believe in shots. None of her own dogs get any shots of any kind. So she must find an independent person to dog sit while she is away. I bet all of you would tear her up in a conversation too.
For those of you who care about the fact that their AKC registered pets that were purchased from the Halpin Mills aren't qualified to be AKC registered, I hope that this thread doesn't deter you from standing up for your rights to fight against such deciet and hope people like the Halpins get shut down for good.
