I want a vet that has compassion, I want one that makes me feel like he's listening to me and wants to answer all my questions, and concerns. I want one that keeps informed in the latest developments, and is continuing his education because he loves his profession. I want one that is involved in the community, and who knows which specialists are the best.
If you've ever had to have a pet put to sleep, you know that the relationship you have with your vet, is an extremely important one. You want a vet who's not making his decisions on how that will affect his income, but on how that will affect the pet and its family. Sometimes, a family is too close to a pet, and you need to see through the eyes of knowledgeable, compassionate professional.
I don't have a list of vets, I've only listed some of the qualities that you should look for in your vet. So many times people recommend people just because they have pleased them in the past, without knowing much of their background. I've read so many times, "They came highly recommended, but . . ." |
