I am so sorry for your loss.

We lost our yorkie in November after a brief illness which the vet and vet specialist were unable to diagnose. Biscuit presented with a different symptom each week and even confused the vet neurologist specialist we were referred to. (He was limping then better on steroids, red blood cell count low, then other rear leg was lame, red blood cell count still low, no signs of bleeding, front leg same side was lame & he was walking into things...then those symptoms were gone & he was bruising under armpits from being picked up. Following week he developed a large lump in his neck...ultrasound showed it was a lymph node surrounded with blood...more tests, different symptoms...he passed within two weeks. His stool never showed any bleeding, but suspected some type of internal bleeding under the skin. His diagnosis went from an injury to necrotic encephalitis to possibly cancer/tumor. The doctors were all surprised when he passed.

My reasoning behind telling you this story is that Biscuit had the best vets available and they were still unable to diagnose, treat and save him. It sounds to me as if you, and your vet, did everything possible to save your wonderful pup. It is horrible and devastating when they leave us at an early age...although any time they leave us is too early.

Try and take comfort in the fact that you provided him with a wonderful loving family for the time he was here and that he shared his love with all of you.

Feel free to pm me if you need to talk.
