I understand what you are saying about the breeders in your area. I just hold breeders to a higher standard when it comes to how they market and try and sell their animals. They are supposed to be the professionals and should be able to educate the buyers, not keep the bad terms going.
If a breeder has done their education, research and is breeding for the betterment of the breed. They should know what the terms mean and wouldn't be using them. I'm not saying they are all bad people by any means, but they wouldn't be the kind of breeder I would turn to for a puppy. |
I believe that what she is trying to say is that many breeders who use that as a descriptive term are ignorant of it's negative conotation. They use terms such as tiny, or teacup, or baby doll face to describe the size or face, not to market the puppies. They could just as easily post the dog's size or weight, and describe the face as being short muzzle, but it is just easier to use the terms.
In other words, they just use it as a description not as a marketing technique.
